STDs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases) are those that can be transmitted from one person to another through sexual contact .
Most are caused by microorganisms that lodge in Organs genitals. All are dangerous and can leave sequelae if not treated in time.
Remember that condoms are the only effective method of preventing STDs and AIDS. Some STDs, in their initial phase, have treatment, control or cure.
1. Gonorrhea
Gonorrhea, also called blenorrhagia, is one of the most common STDs. It can reach men and women.
It is caused by bacteria that infect the urethra, causing burning on urination, itching, swelling and redness at the edges of the urinary orifice. If not treated in time, it can lead to sterility.
2. Syphilis
Syphilis is caused by bacteria and is transmitted through sexual contact or contaminated blood.
It is a serious disease, which can attack several vital organs. It can cause blindness, paralysis, cardiac and neurological disorders and even death.
In pregnant women, it can cause irreversible damage to the fetus’ nervous system. Its main symptom is a small ulcer, hard and painless, in Organs sexual organs.
This ulcer tends to disappear after some time. Later, red spots may appear on the body, which disappear, but the disease remains active.

3. Genital herpes
Genital herpes is caused by a virus, for which there is no cure. The disease causes small blisters on Organs sexual organs, which, when broken, become wounds, causing burning, itching and pain.
The blisters may disappear and return after a period of time, depending on the condition of the wearer’s immune system.
4. Candidiasis
It is caused by fungi normally found in our body, but which proliferate a lot due to stress, the use of antibiotics, contraceptives and during pregnancy. It causes burning and itching.
The candidiasis is transmitted by sexual contact or shared underwear. If the mother has candidiasis, the baby may be infected at the time of delivery.

5. Condyloma Acuminata
This type of disease is caused by the HPV virus – papilloma (with subtypes). It can be transmitted to women by men without symptoms, and is therefore called asymptomatic carrier.
Its symptoms are the appearance of warts, often microscopic, on Organs genitals. In women the virus can remain inert for years, activating in moments of low immunity.
It can increase the wealth of cervical cancer. Vaccines already exist to prevent some types of viruses that cause the disease.
6. Hepatitis B
Hepatitis B is caused by a virus that attacks the liver. The infected individual may recover from the infection or become a chronic carrier, developing serious illnesses such as cirrhosis or liver cancer.
Contagion occurs through sexual intercourse with infected individuals or through contaminated blood. Prevention is done with a vaccine.

7. AIDS
Also called AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome), AIDS is caused by the human immunodeficiency virus ( HIV ) that attacks lymphocytes – blood cells specialized in the production of antibodies that are responsible for defending the organism.
HIV can be transmitted through the sperm, blood, vaginal discharge and breast milk of infected people.
The virus can stay in a person’s body for several years without manifesting itself, even destroying the lymphocytes, which can lead to death, as a result of other diseases called opportunists.
There are drugs capable of prolonging the life of AIDS patients, improving their quality of life.
