All About Turkish History

Turkey

History was one of the lessons that we did not ask our teacher “What will it do?” In primary school. Maybe we learn history just out of curiosity, maybe because we enjoy learning, and maybe because we want to be historians. Every citizen in Turkey in this context (at least the majority) will find the information you need to know the date.

You are recommended to listen to Dombira from Aslanbek Sultanbekov while reading the content.

Education in high school is a knowledge that has been taught many times in our life. We consider our first ancestors in history as the Asian Hun State . However, the name Turkish was first heard with the Göktürk Khanate .

In summary; We consider our first ancestors in history as the Asian Hun State.

Attalia
Attalia

Atilla is the greatest and most well-known ruler of the European Hun Empire.
While he was ruling the state jointly with his brother Bleda in the early days, he had differences of opinion with his brother and declared himself the ruler of the state by ending Bleda’s life. Attila, who became the head of the state in 445, was called the “ Whip of God ” among Europeans with his domination and expeditions in Europe . Nobody knows his grave today. All of those who attended his funeral were killed because they knew the location of the tomb.

Attila is a Turkish ruler who ruled Europe for years and frightened the states from him.

3. Kürşad Uprising

Kürşad Uprising is mentioned as one of the first independence movements of the Turks.
This incident is briefly mentioned in Chinese sources  as the rebellion of someone named Chieh-she-shuai .  Chieh-she-shuai is a descendant of the Göktürk Khaganate and is one of China’s foreign generals. When the Göktürk State came under Chinese rule in 630, many state officials and dynasty members were chained. This period between the years 630-680  is expressed as the 50-year captivity of the Turks  .

According to the event referred to as the Kürşad Rebellion,  Chieh-she-shuai  plotted the assassination plan of the Chinese emperor with 40 soldiers he gathered to end the Göktürk captivity in 639. Goal; It is to confuse China by killing the emperor and to establish the Göktürk State again in Ötüken by kidnapping the captive members of the Göktürk dynasty. But things do not go well, the night the emperor is killed, a very violent storm breaks out and the emperor does not leave the palace that night.  Chieh-she-shuai attacks the Chiu-ch’eng Palace  with 40 soldiers, considering the risk of exposing the plan and killing Turkish prisoners  . That night, a massacre began in the palace.  Ashina Jiesheshuai and his men manage to stand up to more Chinese soldiers than anyone could have predicted. But with the support from outside, the number of Chinese soldiers increases as the number increases. When the Chinese are overwhelming,  Chieh-she-shuai  and his survivors try to flee north on horses. Many of the Chinese soldiers and  Chieh-she-shuai ‘s fedayeen who followed them drown while trying to cross the  Vey River . The river was recently captured and killed after a while. Nihal Atsız translated the name Chieh-she-shuai into Turkish as Kürşad for the sake of ease of reading in her novel.

The Kürşad Uprising is an indication that we, the Turks, have protected the principle of “either independence or death” throughout history.

Capital: Ankara or Istanbul?

Ankara is the capital of Turkey.

Many people think that Istanbul is the capital of Turkey. This is because Istanbul was once the capital of the Eastern Roman Empire and the Ottoman Empire .

But since 1923, after the fall of the Ottoman Empire, Turkey’s capital is Ankara.

Istanbul is the country’s main city and the only bi-continental city in the world. Part of it is in Asia and the other part is in Europe. It is a megacity, considering that it houses more than 10 million inhabitants.

economy

The GDP per capita of 10,299 US $. The main sectors of the Turkish economy are agriculture, industry and tourism. Turkey produces a lot of nuts and grains, with more evidence in wheat cultivation.

In the industry, the automobile sector stands out, since the country is one of the largest automobile producers in the world. The textile industry is also quite strong.

About 39 million tourists visit the country annually.

Culture

Turks are in the habit of drinking tea. On average, they drink about ten cups daily. Another custom is to leave your shoes at the entrance to the houses. When visiting someone, the hosts provide slippers at the entrance.

Superstitious, it is common to use the Turkish eye, an amulet. This object can be hung in homes or placed on babies’ clothes.

In Turkey, kissing between men is a common greeting. Likewise, it is normal to see friends walking hand in hand.

Ninety-nine percent of Turks follow Islam . This religion, however, is not the country’s official religion, because Turkey follows the principle of Secularism.

In Secularism, there is religious freedom and the political system is not influenced by religion.

For religious reasons, women’s garments cover their entire bodies. The clothes are dark. Religious men, in turn, wear a turban.

For wedding ceremonies, the bride and groom dress just as they do in the West: the bride in a white dress, the groom in a suit.

The big difference is the gifts that are offered. In Turkey, the bride and groom earn jewelry and money. The jewels are placed on the bride, who remains with them during the party.

Kosovo War

Legendary 7 wars of the Turks
Legendary 7 wars of the Turks

It is the answer to the question of when does history begin somewhere. Year: 1389. The Ottoman Empire was established, yet a hundred years have passed. Orhan Gazi is walking fast on the road opened by Osman Gazi. Then his son is a hero named Sultan Murad. He goes on his father’s advice to “keep Edirne”. Sultan Murad is walking towards the Balkans.

As he walks, the lands he set foot on turn into a ‘homeland’ in a short time. Time passes quickly, the Ottomans make the lands such as Sofia, Nis and Manastir as Turkish homeland until the end of time. The whole Western world is of course uncomfortable with the Ottoman advance in the Balkans, as if on a Sunday tour.

The remedy is to build a Crusader army. They are also installing. A massive Crusader army of over 100 thousand. Ready to burn and demolish. The Ottomans are only half the size of the Crusader army. This new Crusader Army has one goal:Stopping the advance of the Ottomans in the Balkans and removing Muslims from the Balkans forever. However, Kosovo Square was able to witness only 8 hours of this war, in which more than 150 thousand people participated. The crusader army was completely destroyed.

Sultan Murad was martyred as he wanted in the prayer he made just before the war. But after this 8-hour victory, the Ottomans made the Balkans ‘homeland’. After this victory, the region would remain under Ottoman rule for more than 400 years. He remained. The Kosovo War was the first step that transformed Devlet-i Ali into an Empire. It was the first place to write a unique heroic epic, where similar ones will be written many times later.

The story is the same again: Crusader army on one side. In other words, the Roman-German Empire, England, France, Scotland, Switzerland, Hungary, Wallachia, Poland, the Venetian Republic and many other ‘some Hindu, Cannibal, some people, what a trouble’ a lot of different groups; on the other hand, the Ottoman army.

The Ottoman, which consisted of 60 thousand people, was against the Crusader army of 130 thousand people. This time, Niğbolu, on the banks of the Danube River, would witness the last great Crusade of the Middle Ages. The purpose of the Crusader army was the same as the previous one. But this time their confidence in mathematics took their demands one step further. To erase the Turks from history.

They were crowded, strong, arrogant. Date: September 28, 1396. The years that Danube has not cried yet. The two armies met. Experience is lighting up. This time the battle lasted only 3 hours. It was a clear Turkish victory. It was a heroic epic that a brilliant mind gifted the world. A clear victory of the Ottomans who thought of taking the Crusader cavalry off his horse. How Does?

The Ottomans piled sharp piles behind the first line. Then back to fake retreat. The Crusaders rode their horses happily, and when they came to the stakes, they had to dismount. The thought of erasing the Turk from history, along with the head of the horse off his horse, got out of their heads. He could no longer come together and come themselves.

Conquest of Istanbul

Legendary 7 wars of the Turks
Legendary 7 wars of the Turks

As time passed, the state established by Osman Gazi Han in Söğüt had come a long way in Thrace and the Balkans as in Anatolia. Except for the black stain that looks like a tumor in the middle of the Ottoman Empire, everything was fine. The Ottomans were strong enough to smash the entire Western alliance with a single fist, but their strength was still not enough to bring down the capital of Eastern Rome.

Years had been chasing, all previous attempts had failed. Of course, Byzantium remained a handful of land. However, it had very strong impenetrable walls and stronger connections than the walls. Whenever we intended it didn’t happen. But the day had come. II on the throne. Mehmed was sitting. From the first day, all their accounts were about taking Istanbul. He did everything he did for this. After preliminary preparations, the first siege finally began on April 6, 1453.

The Crusaders tried to help Byzantium from seven lands again. The measures taken by Fatih prevented many of them. The Ottoman army surrounded the city from all sides and took heavy bombardment. Occasional attacks were also being carried out, but the large and strong walls could not be overcome. Foreign chroniclers noted that the Turks were harvested by the knights in front of the walls. Although a month had passed since the siege, Byzantium did not seem to fall at all. Of course, it would not be easy to overthrow the Eastern Roman Empire that had been standing for a thousand years, and it was not.

This time, Fatih produced a genius breakthrough that enforced the laws of physics: Running ships by land in order to overcome the Byzantine chain stretched to the Golden Horn! You know he was saying: “Genius,Seeing what is possible is what is thought impossible. Sensing that ships can also walk on land makes Fatih one of the Mehmets. ” That was exactly that. After 56 days, the Ottomans wiped out the Eastern Roman Empire, which had stood for 1058 years, from the history book forever.

Battle of Mohach

Legendary 7 wars of the Turks
Legendary 7 wars of the Turks

In those days, of course, there was no such thing as the Guinnnes Book of Records, Mohaç would have been a heroic epic to be written on the first page. You ask why? Because you welcome the shortest pitched battle in history. They say that everything happened in less than two hours. There is Hungary.

Not like today, of course, a strong state in Europe that can stand up to the Ottoman Empire. It disturbs the environment a little by coming to the gas of the Germans. The issue goes further behind when Hungary killed the Ottoman ambassador Behram Sergeant. They shoot the messenger, the Ottomans are killing the whole of Hungary.

Sultan Suleiman, who set out from Istanbul in the winter of 1526, took it in the Mohaç Plain the same year, set up his tent and awaited the attack of the Hungarian army as a tactic. Hungarians are also attacking. He’s always knownWe apply the legendary Crescent Tactic, which we apply every time and keeps it every time. They are eating again.

We fake retreat and the Hungarian army stays against Ottoman cannons. An absolute victory. A Behram Sergeant may not be but the whole Hungarian army is destroyed. A war that has gone down in history the day it happened. Terrific.

Preveza Naval Battle

Legendary 7 wars of the Turks
Legendary 7 wars of the Turks

The Ottomans, who kept the land completely, could not be defeated on the land. This was clear. But sea control could not be left to him. If this went on, the Mediterranean would be completely under Turkish domination, this was unacceptable.

The Crusader navy anchored 300 ships and 80 thousand soldiers off the coast of Preveza, under the command of Andrea Doria, an infidel, whom they likened to Neptune, the god of the sea, saying that at least we sweep the Turks from the sea. Opposite it is Captain-ı Derya Barbaros Hayreddin Pasha. 122 ships and 12 thousand beams. The Crusader navy is strong, crowded and arrogant.

They expect Barbaros to defend, but vice versa. Hayreddin Pasha attacks with a handful of ships. Conclusion Doria is caught off guard. Do not be fooled, Doria is one of the greatest sailors the world has ever seen. But in vain. Hayreddin Pasha wins the war without losing a single ship. Sinks 13, 40 ‘or captures the nearby ship and the Crusaders escape.

War of Independence

Do not look at that we are hurt, do not look at that we are sad, do not look at our failure to remember our victory properly. The War of Independence is the place where we turn the scenario that the whole world has written with a bad end alone with our nails. We are people who did not even write the epic of the collapse, that’s why it is a bi

That’s why we can write an epic even where we died… That’s why we couldn’t tell. We were in the grip of the calamity called Harb-i Umumi. The year is 1914. Could the Ottoman not have entered the First World War? Of course and unfortunately not! Because they fought the war for you. We have entered. We defeated. But we lost well.

We Bat. But as a sun. That sun was the War of Independence itself. The War of Independence is what we call “not that much”. It is the last move we make while dying, that brings us back to life. This is not enough to tell the story. It was a heroic epic that world history had never seen before.

There is not a single example in the entire history of humanity. It was the clearest answer that a nation that ran out of bullets could write victory with bare hands. Seven dowels. So to an entire Crusader alliance. Desperate to.

15 July 2016

It is the date that reminds us of some things we forget, some things made us forget, some things we prefer to forget 15 July 2016. Now, what has to do with all this can never be said. Just as they would have wanted to stop us in Kosovo in 1389, the same was aimed on 15 July. Just as they had succeeded, they would have wanted to erase us from the map in Niğbolu in 1396, July 15 was the same.

Just as they had succeeded after the War, they would not even want to give us a place in today’s lands, just as they had planned it on July 15. We know it is not the cursed plans of a perverted congregation. For the Crusader spirit, the end of a 100-year hiatus was the closing of the account that was left unfinished 100 years ago.

But it didn’t. It was not thanks to Uncle Mustafa from Kazan, it was not thanks to the martyr Ömer Halisdemir,It was not thanks to those who walked on the bullets saying “man dies once”. And just like the War of Independence, you tried, you failed, now it is our turn to move, 15 July is the date that opens the door to what we will say. So it is more of a breakthrough, an offensive war, rather than a defensive war. It is the starting date of the day we call “Now it’s our turn to move”.
