Characteristics

The arcuate arteries of the kidney are blood vessels of the renal circulation that originate in the interlobular arteries of the kidney. They are located at the junction between the renal cortex and the renal medulla from where they arch at right angles and continue parallel to the surface of the kidney. The name “arciform” is due to the fact that they form arches.
