D-002 (Abexol) is an isolated and purified natural product of beeswax (Apis mellifera), consisting of a well-defined mixture of primary aliphatic alcohols. It has previously been shown that this product has an antiulcer effect, from the protection of the gastric mucosa in ulcers induced by various agents with a cytoprotective mechanism.
D-002 (50 to 400 mg / kg) reduced the ulcer area in a dose-dependent and statistically significant manner, producing protection from damage at doses of 200 and 400 mg / kg of 45 and 54%, respectively.
