Richard Branson

Richard Branson . ( 18 of July of 1950 ) is an English business magnate; known for its Virgin brand, with more than 360 companies making up the Virgin Group.

Biographical synthesis


He was born on July 18 , 1950 at Stonefield Nursing Home Blackheath, South London , the son of Edward James Branson and Eve Branson (born Huntley Flindt). His grandfather, Arthur George Harwin Branson, was a Justice of the High Court of Justice and a private counsel in the United Kingdom. He was educated at Scaitcliffe School until the age of thirteen. He then attended Stowe School, until he was fifteen.

He suffered from dyslexia , so he obtained very low academic results in school, however, at fifteen he had already founded two companies, which ultimately failed. At sixteen, he dropped out of school and moved to London, where he started his first successful business , Student magazine. At the age of seventeen he founded his first charitable organization, the “Student Advisory Center.”

He founded his first successful company at age 16, when he published a magazine called Student. In 1970 he created a register by mail for companies. In 1972 , he opened the Virgin Records chain of record stores, later known as Virgin Megastores and renamed zZavvi. With its flamboyant competitive flair, the Branson’s Virgin brand grew rapidly during the 1980s; created Virgin Atlantic Airways and expansion of Virgin Records, the record label.

In 1998 he published his autobiography Losing My Virginity, an international best-seller. In September 2009, he released Business Stripped Bare, which gave a behind-the-scenes look at some of his most risky and daring deals. Both were published by Virgin Books.

He has been a guest star, usually himself, on various television shows including Friends, Baywatch, Birds of a Feather, Only Fools and Horses, The Day Today, an episode of the comedy Goodness Gracious Me, and Tripping Over. .

He was also the star of a Fox reality show called The Rebel Billionaire (2004), out of sixteen contestants who were tested for their entrepreneurial skills and sense of adventure.

He made cameos in several films: Around the World in 80 Days (2004), where he played the role of a hot air balloon operator; Superman Returns , where he appeared alongside his son, Sam, with Virgin Galactic, a commercial suborbital shuttle style at the center of his story. He also has a cameo in the James Bond movie, Casino Royale .

He made a series of brief and disjointed appearances in the cult classic documentary Derek and Clive Get the Horn that fits the exploits of Peter Cook and Dudley Moore , to the recording of their latest comedy album. Branson and his mother were also featured in the documentary film, Lemonad Stories.

In March 2008 he made a small appearance on a Bollywood budget , alongside Neha Dhupia .
